COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

In addition to Netball Australia’s General Code of Behaviour, you must meet the following requirements with regard to your conduct during any activity held by or under the auspices of netball Australia, Member Organisations or Affiliates in your role as a Coach.

Coaches are required to:

Display control, respect, dignity and professionalism to all involved with the sport – this includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, players, parents and spectators regardless of their age, ability, cultural background, gender or religion. Encourage your players to demonstrate the same qualities

Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions. Operate within the rules and spirit of the sport. Abuse, bullying and sexual harassment will not be tolerated.

Language, manner, punctuality, preparation and presentation should display high standards. Be a positive role model for your sport and players.

Maintain appropriate records.

Ensure the player’s time spent with you is a positive experience by keeping netball fun and enjoyable.

All players are deserving of equal attention and opportunities. Cater for all levels and player abilities ensuring that all players have equal opportunities to acquire skills, raise self-esteem and increase confidence.

Facilitate the development of club members through keeping your skills and training up to date to assist players to reach their full netball potential.

Respect the talent, developmental state and goals of each individual player. Help each player reach their full potential.

Treat each athlete as an individual. Be fair, considerate and honest with players.
